PROVIDENCE & WORCESTER MODEL RAILROAD
This is a Proto-Freelancd layout based on the Providence & Worcester Railroad (P&W).
The prototype P&W gained its independence from the Penn Central in 1973 and operated 0n 163 miles
between Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut with an additional 350 miles of trackage rights
between Providence,RI and Queens, NY. In 2016 the P&W was taken over by the Genesse & Wyoming (G&W)
and still operates the line today. I decided to model the railroad before the takeover.

The lay0ut uses 2 NCE-DCC 5 amp systems. One just for trains operations and the other is for turnout and remote dispatching.
My sound decoders of choice are ESU Lok Sound. I feel its good just to have one. Make's speed matching a lot easier and all progamming
is done with their Lok Programmer. I use CVP Products AD4MC accessory decoders to control all the mainline and yard turnouts. Branch line turnouts are manual control. Circuit breakers are used to break up the power districts.
